Ironman

Yesterday was the first Ironman race here in St George. The best part was that it went right in front of our house. They did the 2.4-mile swim at Sand Hallow and then started the 112-mile bike race and it went right in front of our house. After that they had to do a marathon.

Seriously? I don't get it.

We woke up and rode our bikes over to the end of Dixie Springs drive right as the first bike rider and the clock came by. It was so fun to cheer them on! It had been a horrible week for weather and wind but it was clear and crisp. A perfect race day!

These pictures were taken from our front porch. They are in perspective (no zoom).

We just so happened to be in St George that evening for a reception and we made our way over to the finish line to watch. It was very cool to see the triumph on their faces and the crowd cheer as they came in.

I still don't get it, but you have to respect anyone who does it.

Don't forget: TODAY is the last day to enter the giveaway...check 2 posts back. Tomorrow morning Davis and I will pick a winner. I'm so excited and want everyone to win!

You did have a good view. We thought about going over that night to the finish line, but decided not to...maybe next year, or the next.
