Rockin' Walk-a-thon

We had the coral Canyon Walk a thon this last week and it was fun and a little emotional. I'm glad I had sunglasses on all day long to hide my tears!

The school board decided that our neighborhood needs to change schools next year because of the way numbers are lining up. One small problem...I am suppose to be the PTA President for the next two years!

Now I'm not so sad about having a little more time on my hands, a little relieved to be honest. What I am sad about is that I know everyone at the school and they know me. I have worked hard to make good relationships and lets be honest, it pays off for my kids.

I love my kids teachers! Seriously, they are amazing! Mrs Brunstad is sad too that she wont get to teach Beckham - like really sad. I love that my kids are a blessing to a teacher and teachers are hoping that they get my kids.

Our little helpers that worked all day long right with us Moms!

I know that next year will be fine. We will all be starting over in a sense. There are a lot of good things about the change. The biggest is that they will be in Hurricane! Right now they attend a Washington school and when they go to Intermediate school our school feeds 3 different Intermediate schools and it can be a hard transition for the kids from Coral Canyon. I am glad they will meet new friends and this transition will be a lot smoother and at an easier age.

Davis also wants to do the Chinese Immersion program so he will be in a half day of Chinese each day starting next year. That is not offered at Coral Canyon and I think it will be a huge blessing to him considering he is already 2 grades above level in math!

We will all miss Coral Canyon! Just the fact that I can say that is huge considering that the first couple years were a little rough with our raunchy Principle! Its been such a blessing and a ton of fun to be in PTA. Ive worked with some amazing people!

Funny Beckham

Both conversations with Beckham today...

Becks: did you see that police? That was police not a cop. Cops are bad!
Mom: why are cops bad?
Becks: they shoot people, but not police.

Becks drinking a slurpee.
Mom: can I have a sip
Beckham goes to hand it to me then pulls it back. "Wait are you sick? You have to check you know"

Who's the boss?

Beckham: Isn't Santa the boss?
Davis: Nope, its Jesus.

Beckham turns 4!

How could this have happened! Our baby is 4 years old! He has grown up so much in the last few months before our eyes!

He was so excited to open presents and all he said he wanted for his birthday was a big Thomas the train set. Thanks to his wonderful grandparents he got some very fun new additions to his set!

He had his favorite food for dinner. Artichokes and spaghetti. All that seems to change for birthday dinners around here is what color sauce goes on the noodles.

He wanted an ice cream cake. I made one out of Ice cream sandwiches and for the frosting we used cool whip and pudding mixed together. It was super yummy - very hard to make look pretty but worth it!

We set his new pieces up and the boys have had a blast with the new bridges. Our Thomas set has become so much fun!

Sweet Becks...you are charming, fun, lively, crazy, and so so smart! You are also SO headstrong and stubborn and drive me up the wall! You want so badly to be independent and make all your own choices. You remind me of Caleb in so many ways. It will be one of your greatest strengths when you learn to channel your passion and Independence, until then you will drive me crazy! You challenge me and make me grow in so many ways. You are my refining fire :-) I love you so much and life would never be the same without you!

Happy Birthday!

Home alone!

Look who started school today! First official day of Kindergarten!

Such a stud, not even a hesitation.

Then it was off to drop this guy off to Preschool!

I call this the "enough already Mom!" picture.

He walked in like he owned the place!

I came home and cleaned for a couple hours and got SO much done! I grabbed Becks from our carpool just in time to get Davis off the bus!

Oh, man where does the time go. There is a part of me that feels a bit lazy or selfish for having time to just myself. Then I remind myself that for the most part, the last 9 years I have operated in panic mode. I have felt like I am running so hard and hardly able to keep up. I'm really looking forward to finally being able to keep up and be the kind of Mom that just might be a little less frazzled!

There is always hoping at least!

SLC

John also got to escape with Beckham this weekend to go to SLC to sell some surfboards. They decided to take a tour of the Conference center while there.

John also got to see his childhood friends Joe and Dan.

Such good times for the boys! We missed them sooo much (wink wink!) Okay, we really did, but on the bright side I got SOOO much done at home!

Poor guy!

Poor Beckham has some sort of stomach bug that is causing some serious runs. Hes been on the potty whining, "this is taking to long" and "I don't like my bum bum anymore!" I try not to laugh but its incredibly funny to hear his constant moan of complaints.

He really wants my iphone to play angry birds on but a 3 year old, on the toilet, with diarrhea all make me a little apprehensive to turn it over to him. instead Ive turned him into a pocket poker addict! Poor guy!

Pool Safe!

I just want to document that this was the weekend that Beckham finally took his breaths when swimming! I'm SOOO exited for 3 pool safe kids!!!

Cubs

Oh man. Today I felt old. Although old is not the right word because it has a negative connotation. This isn't negative, its just I'm seeing myself as we have become. We have hit a whole new stage of life. Gone are the days when I wondered if I would ever leave the house and have a reason to shower again....now are the days of half a tank of gas in a day!

I look around in Church during the 2nd and 3rd hour when my kids have gone to Primary and Nursery, and I see young Moms caring for babies and chasing toddlers. That not me anymore. Its weird to see another generation take my place and see myself move into the next stage.

Caleb got to play in his first machine pitch game tonight and he just looked so..... big.

They play positions, he knows the rules, they actually catch and throw the ball, he was decked out in catchers gear for heavens sakes! He swings and it looks...well like its suppose to!

He did great! He hit all 3 times he got up to bat.

Hes a fast little guy and made it all the way around the bases.

He really liked playing shortstop.

And he did great at catching.

Beckham didn't want to miss out on the action.

Good night these boys are so good looking! He also went searching for bugs under first base!

We came home and practiced hitting and he really got his swing down. He was smacking them way over my head! Then we played catch and we had such a great time. Hes just as good as I am and he has a really good arm.

Surprisingly I think I like being a baseball Mom more than a Soccer Mom.
