It was nice that we had a little notice this year :) Last year we found out 3 hours before! We worked hard on a Log cabin cake and it turned out pretty good for my cake decorating skills :)

Pinewood Derby!
We had our pinewood derby and it was a blast! I was so happy that Caleb's car did well this year. He came in 2nd place most races. He wanted a angry bird car and it turned our pretty darn good!
Davis also wanted a car so we helped him build a Star Wars speeder.
It was pretty awesome looking!

Wolf!
The whole family got to enjoy a month of fun learning to finish off the requirements Caleb needed to get his wolf. This last week he got his award, as well as 1 gold and 1 silver arrow point.
I really do like the things the cub scout book teaches him and make us aware of that he is ready to learn. For example one of his requirements was to learn how to turn the gas and water off in our house. He looked like a little man following dad around and looking closely at the valves.

After the awards they had a rocket derby. They had a lot of fun. Davis really wanted to put a rocket together and John helped him and he ended up with the highest rocket of the night!

Blue and Gold
Caleb had his first Blue and Gold dinner for scouts.
We didn't know that he had to bring a cake until about an hour before, so we took our cookies and make a cookie cake!

Pinewood Derby!
We had fun with the pinewood derby this year. Caleb took a solid third place....ummmm in every singe race. There were 4 to a race so he never came in last! Poor guy was pretty disappointed but he got over it!
John had made a sa-weet outlaw car but threw up 8 minutes before it started. So Davis had to use an old car. It was also not a really swift car but there was one race where I put it on backwards and it beat the other 2 cars out. He was convinced he came in 1st place overall :)

A Bobcat!
Caleb turned 8 and officially became a cub scout! He has been so excited for Scouts!
He turned 8 on Sunday and earned his Bobcat on Thursday night at his first pack meeting! I am so proud of him! I got my first pin too!
His den leader Crystal is so cute and she had the boys in the pack paint Caleb and Braxtons faces to welcome them both in.
