Fall time brings SOCCER!

Soccer season started last week but we were gone so today was the boys first game. John and I switched it up this year. He is coaching Caleb and the Green Machines.

While I am coaching Davis and the Purple Flames!

What a difference a year makes! Caleb did great! It took him a little to get back into the groove but by the end he was really getting in there and going for the ball. He scored a goal and assisted on a couple of their other goals.

And then there was Davis....last year he was picking flowers, running in circles, and falling down on purpose. Today he scored a couple of minutes into the game and I was so happy. What a great way to boost his confidence! Two seconds later Davis cuts from he outside and dribbles the ball to about 5 feet from the goal, shoots, and scores again! He scored 4 goals today! Sarah caught his 4th goal on camera!

He was awesome! In fact he even went over to the other team to help them out since they were really short players.

As always we had our supportive cheering squad!

Okay so maybe it looked more like this,,,,

And even more like this!

We are so happy soccer season is here again!

Blog worthy indeed!

Life got crazy in the fall but I found these pics and wanted to post them for John.

He got to hold the MLS cup!
The REAL cup!

And no, I'm not making fun - the SLC Real - they were the champions :)
Okay, so maybe I was poking a little bit of fun....

The busiest time of the year!

Its Soccer Season!
Caleb's coach...
Davis' coach...
Its hard for kids to understand that in soccer they don't have to share or take turns. Caleb waits patiently for the other team to get a turn to kick it :) We're working on that...

Davis on the other hand runs around smiling. He is as young as you can be to play and it shows. He gets bored and tired pretty fast! That is until mom pulls out the camera and then he poses mid game.
And Beckham sits (not so patiently) while Mom and Dad both coach at the same time. Its hard to be benched when your name is Beckham!

Halloween Day Continued...

After Karate we had to rush over to St George for Caleb's soccer game. You know how I say it kills Davis to have to sit and watch soccer. Well, it just so happens that only 2 kids showed up for Saturdays game and so we give you:

Davis' Soccer Debut!

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! He just thought the point was to run around and then have a dog pile. So the first few plays he would just crash into people and cause a big pile up. He got trampled of course but he would hop right back up. He actually played all but the last few minutes of the game and he was in heaven!

This next picture is what pee wee soccer is all about...

"which way are we going?"
John must say that 20 times a game!

Davis you are a natural.
You seem to have the heart for sports and we cant wait for next year when you are old enough to play!

Poor Davis cried the whole game because he wants to play so bad! Hes going to be one competitive kid!

Soccer season starts!

Yea! It soccer time! What a difference a year makes.

Last year Caleb was running in circles and wouldn't get in the action. This year he actually went for the ball and got in the action! He is #2 just like his Daddy was.

The focus
Ohhh and he got that really handsome coach that he had last year too ;)

His cheering section...
Decked out to cheer for another team that we don't really want to talk about!

Best part is still Capri Sun and fruit snacks!

Officially a Soccer Mom!

Meet the Sparx
Driving in my sweet Minivan to Caleb's first soccer game this week with a cooler full of orange slices, granola bars, and Capri suns...I teared up. I know that not many women would find this to be a sweet tender moment but for me its the realisation of my dreams coming true! All my life I wanted to be the soccer mom, running from game to game on Saturday cheering for my kiddos and providing yummy treats. And now its here...I think in my dreams though my child actually wanted to kick the ball not just run around thinking it was fun to run in a group for no reason.
Here's the proof!

It was so fun and crazy all at the same time. Johns the coach and it was picture day too so it was just a lot for one hour of trying to get the forms out to parents, pass out treats, time the quarters and halves, and get all of my AYSO stuff done. I always envisioned myself as the team mom but I actually was asked to be an executive member of the AYSO board for our region as the treasurer. Its actually pretty fun and I love to do bookkeeping stuff like that. I did all the financials for KinderCare when I worked there and Ive missed it.I couldn't find the best video to post on here and I'm afraid that I accidentally erased the wrong one. Caleb has become interested in Scooby Doo and so during this game when he wanted to put on his big speed he would pretend run in place and pump his arms really fast and then take off (just like they do in cartoons when the legs move around and around before the character actually starts moving) Hes got some sweet moves!
Here is the documentation of Calebs true interest in soccer! I think he was more excited about all the new accessories that he got like cleats and shin guards and the snacks of course. He did have a really good time and thats the most important thing. He asked me before the game if they were going to win and I just told him that it didn't matter either way as long as he tried his best his mommy would be very proud of him...and I was, running in circles and all!

Check out our hot coach!John is such a great coach for this age since hes so patient and makes everything so fun!

Davis cant wait for his chance to play. During practice I had to keep dragging him off the field since he would get a ball and start dribbling and join in! The crazy part is that hes just as good as all the other kiddos and he wont give up and he certainly wont let you take his ball away from him!
