Surgery

Caleb goes in for surgery today. They have to put a couple pins in his elbow to fix the bone so the ball and socket will work correctly. He basically broke the top of the socket off. He will have the pins in for 2 weeks - they are going to leave them sticking out of his skin - YUCK! He will have also have a splint on.

After those 10 days are up, he gets the pins out and a cast on. Then hes in a cast for 5 weeks.

Bummer.

Updated! Oh my **** I am so irritated. They made me starve the kid because he was "scheduled" for 10:30....Dr didn't show up until almost 1:00. 1:00 the anesthesiologist had gone home - couldn't find one. After a very messy fit of mine in the hallway they finally got something together and he got wheeled back at 3:10!

Poor kid. I'm a SOOOOO angry at the Dr and the Hospital. Jerk adults around -fine. Not a poor little boy!

Poor little guy! I can't stop thinking about how painful that must be. It is tough being a mom of a hurt little boy.

Up side? At least it isn't summer break. This all still breaks my heart for you and him. I had surgery when I was 5 and to hear my moms side of the story makes me ache for you- not to mention everything you guys had to go through.

p.s. you guys have spent way too much time at hospitals lately- stay away!! :)

The anxiety of waiting is bad enough but having to go hungry for that long is NOT healthy! I think you had a right to throw a fit.
