Father and Son
They had a good time but there is a new house rule which is that no son is eligible to go on the camp out until he is 3! Davis wandered all over the camp and John had a hard time finding him half the time. (Hmmmmm...that makes me wonder about how come I don't get to say no kids to run errands until they are 3 because really its the same to try to run errands with him. Although I do get to strap him into a cart, or try at least)
Anyway here are the great and abundant pictures that I got off the camera when they got home. I know Caleb had a good time and was so tired from staying up so late that on the way home in the truck he said "Dad, my eyes just wont stay open."

Well...I'm changing it (no offence to the person who first started this). I figure I can use this to my advantage to find new books to read. So I'm going to post the last 5 books Ive read and then I will tag Amanda Hallows, Kate, Caroline, Amanda Menghini, and April because I know your all readers and then you can post the last 5 books you've read and then I suddenly have a great place to look for books to read.

Does this look like the face of a future terror?
WOW! Two is only a month away but it has certainly arrived early for this boy. He use to do this thing where if he was angry he would go up and bang his head against the wall and then cry and want you to hold him...well its back with all new force!
His other new thing is to throw a full sized fit by going stiff as a board and falling where ever he is...I really mean WHERE EVER he is! The other day we were at Costco and he was behind me walking to the table happy as can be. I turn around 20 ft later and he is face down, stiff, in the middle of the walkway, banging his head, blocking traffic! I ran over and this cute little old lady said, "all I did was say hi..." Doesn't take much to tick him off these days.
His other favorite place for one of these fits is in the parking lot if Im making him hold my hand. He DOES NOT want to hold hands. If I try to carry him he arches his back and throws himself backwards so I just have to hold on for dear life as we try to make it to the carts. Ive started parking right near the cart holder to avoid these problems...this has let to other problems though called the stiff body that wont bend! He does this for shopping carts and for his carseat because he has decided he doesn't like them anymore. So he goes stiff as a board and arches his back and quite honestly is almost impossible to push his middle in to get his straps on.
This morning before we were going to take a shower he got mad and decided that it was time for one of his fits. But since our floor is travertine it tends to be really cold and well he was naked. So hes screaming and wanting to assume his prostate position but the floor is to cold. He tried all sorts of ways to lay down but eventually decided the cold floor was not worth it and stood up and walked to the shower happy as can be.
As if we needed further evidence that this is all for show one of my friends was in nursery two Sundays ago. Davis didn't know that she was watching and she saw him get mad and drop to the floor and start banging his head and crying, but oops the teacher didn't see. He very calmly got up walked over to a different teacher and redid the whole scene!

Grandpa and Grandma Henderson
We had a great time last week when Johns Grandparents came to visit! They are always so great with the kids and are so good at playing with them and the boys just eat up all the attention they give them. They brought a very fun tunnel and tent that the boys haven't stopped playing with since. Yesterday in fact Caleb took the Styrofoam from a package we recieved and made it "snow" where Mommy couldn't see! Smart kid. Not so smart in the fact that since we have had the tent and tunnel that is the only place he has hid for hide and go seek! Anyway, we had a great time and here are some of the priceless pictures! This shirt was perfect since Grandma has called Davis a little "coach since he was just a tiny thing. I would have to agree with her that its a perfect description for our little stocky man!

Mothers Day is my new FAVORITE holiday!!!!
Sunday morning started with the alarm going off at 6:30 and I just about killed John. I finally found the alarm clock where it was hidden and he sent me to do some "chores." It was more like a compliment scavenger hunt where he said nice things that led me from clue to clue. See that clue that has a little bit it attached to it...yes, that I had to pull off the back of Davis' diaper while he was sleeping and not wake him up! It was so hard but thankfully Davis had positioned himself bottom up in the air by the side of the crib. I ended up in the pantry where there were these beautiful flowers. Thankfully I went back to bed only to be woken up at 8:00 with my favorite breakfast in bed. He makes the best pancakes and puts almond extract in whipping cream and wraps the whipping cream up it the pancakes and then loads the top with fresh strawberries. We first had these at the Maltby Cafe in Seatlle but they changed their cream freche and so I have to say that Johns are now BETTER than the Maltby Cafe! I got to read in bed and play handheld Yahtzee for a while. We went for a walk, I got to read more and take my time getting ready for church. It was wonderful. Only to come home from church and have the boys make me my favorite dinner, pesto gnocchi and rosemary polenta! I didn't have to lift a finger and went to bed with a clean house! Seriously boys....thank you for the best weekend ever! I wont ever forget it!

I dont think John can afford me! But I couldnt live without him so I guess its okay...
BOSTON — If a stay-at-home mom could be compensated in dollars rather than personal satisfaction and unconditional love, she'd rake in a nifty sum of nearly $117,000 a year.
That's according to a pre-Mother's Day study released Thursday by Salary.com, a Waltham, Mass.-based firm that studies workplace compensation.
The eighth annual survey calculated a mom's market value by studying pay levels for 10 job titles with duties that a typical mom performs, ranging from housekeeper and day care center teacher to van driver, psychologist and chief executive officer.
This year, the annual salary for a stay-at-home mom would be $116,805, while a working mom who also juggles an outside job would get $68,405 for her motherly duties.
One stay-at-home mom said the six-figure salary sounds a little low.
"I think a lot of people think we sit and home and have a lot of fun and don't do a lot of work," said Samantha Russell, a Fremont, N.H., mother who left her job as pastry chef to raise two boys, ages 2 and 4. "But they should try cleaning their house with little kids running around and messing it up right after them."
The biggest driver of a mom's theoretical salary is the amount of overtime pay she'd receive for working more than 40 hours a week. The 18,000 moms surveyed about their typical week reported working 94.4 hours — meaning they'd be spending more than half their working hours on overtime.
Working moms reported an average 54.6 hour "mom work week" besides the hours they spent at paying jobs.
Russell agreed her job as a stay-at-home mom is more than full-time. But she said her "job" brings intangible benefits she wouldn't enjoy in the workplace.
"The rewards aren't monetary, but it's a reward knowing that they're safe and happy," Russell said of her sons. "It's worth it all."

Fun Days
Then today we had a whole bunch of friends over and Caleb and Payton built a fort and had a picnic and then went hunting bears and deers. How do you know that one was raised by a Dad who hunts...he talks about hanging antlers on the wall after he shoots his deer. How do you know one is not raised by a hunter. When his bear is almost shot at he cries and hugs his bear stroking it saying he will protect him. :)

I DID IT!!!
*Yes, as I was sitting here admiring it I realised the year is wrong. I was more focused on getting the text in than on what the text said!
Couldn't help myself and wanted to be sure I had to down so here is my second page:
Seriously- Come on!
At 4:00 in the morning he threw up again and so I gave him a bowl and told him if he couldn't make it to the bathroom to use the bowl. This morning I went to get the bowl out to bring it to him on the couch and there was throw up in it! I asked him when he did that and he said last night while you were sleeping. I said honey you should have got me or daddy and all he said was, "I was all done." It made me so sad he didn't come get us but there are some serious advantages to having sick kids be older.
So today we will once again cancel a play date and a game night tonight with some friends. Hopefully sometime this summer we will be able to be well enough to make some friends! And we will try again next weekend for the Temple.....

Sweet brotherly love
*As a side not the friend that hit Davis is one of the best behaved 4 year olds I know and I really like Caleb playing with him because hes a good kid and they have a really good time together.
On another note we are all almost better and Davis is porking down as much food as possible since hes been better. For example this morning he had 2 bowls of Cheerios and 2 sippy cups before we left the house. When we got to Walmart he was grabbing and crying for food so I gave him a fruit leather. He was still hungry so I gave him a donut. Then I put bananas in the cart and he started going crazy for one so I paid and he ate it before I was done checking out. All of this food was eaten before 10:00 by a 25 lb kid who got up at 8:00. That's pretty impressive!
